The Pre-Occupational Therapy Student Society was founded in January 2015
The purpose of this organization is to provide support and guidance to those interested in the field of occupational therapy and its related subfields. Our mission is to connect people with similar career goals, interests, and passions.

Psychology (B.S.) Major
4th year
Shannon admires the holistic approach OT takes on healthcare and hopes to collaborate with future clients in achieving goals that will improve their quality of life. She values the autonomy OT promotes, and hopes to support others in finding independence in their lives. Shannon is a volunteer at “Karate For All” and "Tumble N Dots", both pediatric clinics. In her free time she enjoys cooking, games, and spending time with friends. Shannon is excited to meet all the new members this year and see how the Pre-OT Student Society continues to grow!

Public Health Sciences Major
4th year
Naomi is a fourth year Public Health Sciences (B.S) major who aims to pursue a career in pediatric occupational therapy. She has always had a passion for working with children and hopes to one day make a powerful difference in the lives of individuals by providing a positive place for children to have everyday “kid” experiences and build their strengths and individuality. Naomi has volunteered at pediatric outpatient clinics such as Carrico Pediatric Therapy and Karate for All. She looks forward to deepening her experience within the field in diverse OT settings. In her free time, she enjoys reading, snowboarding, games, music and hanging out with friends! She looks forward to meeting other like-minded students and connecting with new members this year!

Biological Sciences (B.S.) Major
4th year
Lisa is a fourth year Biological Sciences (B.S.) major. She was first introduced to occupational therapy by volunteering at Karate for All, a pediatric outpatient clinic. She enjoys working with kids so she’s excited to continue volunteering at the clinic and shadowing a pediatric occupational therapy. She is excited to meet other students who pursue similar goals and to contribute in creating a strong community with our future occupational therapists <3

Dalia is a third year Psychology (B.S) major who is inspired by members of the OT world. She hopes to one day do the same to like-minded individuals as she pursues her career in OT! Dalia looks forward to making a difference in people's daily lives and improving their quality of living. She is currently a volunteer at Karate For All, an OT focused martial arts program. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and hiking. Dalia is thankful for the opportunity to be part of a community with similar values and goals. She is excited to meet new members and watch the OT community at UCI grow :)

Iris is a third year Psychology B.S. major who has grown great interest in the interpersonal approach of occupational therapy. She deeply admired the personalized treatment plans that is given to patients in this field and hopes to explore outpatient manual therapy or the hospital setting. She currently volunteers at Karate For All and shadows both physical and occupational therapists at SoCal Elite Physical Therapy. When she isn’t studying or shadowing, she love to try out new restaurants and watch the latest movies with her friends. She is excited to meet like minded people and challenge her interests of those who want to go into a different setting!
